Online grouped study
Online grouped study involves learning as part of a cohort, with set start and end dates. Synchronous activities may play a larger role than in individualized-study courses. Courses with professional practice components typically use this mode, requiring students to work in groups to complete assignments.
Online grouped study delivery has the following characteristics:
- Courses follow a 13-week schedule.
- Sessions start 3 times each year: September, January, or April/May.
- Students connect with instructors and peers by email or in course discussion forums.
- Assignments are submitted through the course website.
- If applicable, students write exams during the final week of class.
Online individualized study
Online individualized-study courses begin on the first day of every month. To start on your intended date, your course registration form and payment must be received by day 10 of the previous month.
These courses provide a self-directed learning environment. Typically, students are expected to:
- Follow an outline provided in a study guide.
- Schedule study time to meet course objectives and complete assignments.
- Prepare for and complete all course requirements within the contract period.
