A celebration like no other: Highlights from Convocation 2025

|

From coast to coast—and far beyond—graduates were welcomed to our home community of Athabasca to mark this meaningful moment

Convocation was a celebration like no other in Athabasca University’s home community of Athabasca, Alta. We proudly celebrated the Class of 2025 and the 1,995 graduates from 54 programs who received degrees, diplomas, and certificates.

Over two remarkable days, the Athabasca region was abuzz as hundreds of graduates and over 2,000 guests from across Canada gathered to mark this special milestone. Following the ceremonies, graduates and their supporters explored AU’s scenic campus—coming together to share stories, reflect on their journeys, and connect in person with those who shaped their experience.

The ceremonies included inspiring speeches from Honorary Doctor of Science recipient Joy Romero and Honorary Doctor of Laws recipient Cadmus Delorme.
